10 SPLASHES OF COLOR for under $3

One late night after spending hours upon hours with the fine folks at Ross and Ikea, I went into Lowes.  I was in search of the perfect color to paint an accent wall in our new house.  Since we live in a beach town in sunny San Diego I decided that I needed a blue hue to spice up our new digs. Who knew that Lowes sells samples of paint mixed to heart's desire for under 3 bucks!? I didn't, but obviously I found out their well kept secret,  Soooo  I tried the color on a small patch of the wall and I didn't like it.  I painted more and more and I didn't like it, the color was great but the idea of painting a wall to near perfection made me itch.  Since I was desperate to bring the color into the space I decided to use the color to brighten up existing décor in my home.  Currently I'm up to six projects.  This DIY splash of color idea came out of adverse circumstances aka my husband refused to paint the walls in our house.  I will say that he very kindly painted five accent walls of all shapes and sizes at our previous address.  I can understand his unwillingness to "suite up" and get the job done this time.  That meant that it was up to me to paint the accent wall and I too refused. Rather I came up with an alternative plan.  Stay tuned for photos of the actual items and their placement in my home.
